Adam Yukelson

Adam is an action researcher, writer, and educator based in San Francisco, USA. He holds a Master’s in Sustainability Management from Columbia University.

In the past, he co-facilitated the edX course u-lab: Transforming Business, Society, and Self with Otto Scharmer. In a research capacity, Adam has served as the learning historian for the Global Wellbeing and GNH Lab, the World Bank Collective Action Platform, and the 50-in-10 initiative (in partnership with the Sustainable Food Lab). In 2013, Adam conducted research in India, Indonesia, Bhutan, and Europe, to understand how Theory U is applied to the transformation of business, society, and self. These stories will be published in a forthcoming Presencing Fieldbook.

Previously, Adam supported Otto Scharmer and Katrin Kaeufer with the research and writing of their latest book, Leading From the Emerging Future: From Ego-System to Eco-System Economies.

The Presencing Institute, a global non-profit, equips change-makers with innovative tools and methods for leading from the future as it emerges. Using our Theory U approach, we combine science, collective action, and creativity to drive systemic change, with hubs across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.
